The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer who will enhance the support to the Missile Defense Agency's sensor systems. This position requires a details oriented individual who will perform a variety of tasks including radar operation and using raw radar data, analyzing radar performance from flight and ground tests. The ideal candidate will have hands-on radar experience with one of the 5 radars from the Sensors Directorate portfolio (AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, Cobra Dane or LRDR) and have a good understanding of systems engineering processes, missile defense architectures and weapon systems, and Air and Missile Defense radar applications. The candidate should be capable of executing documented test and analysis procedures on a demanding schedule and should be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer. Candidate must have good people skills, excellent communicator and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers.


Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in technically related field such as physics, math, engineering, etc.
* Minimum of two years system design experience.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security Clearance.
* Knowledgeable in the area of ballistic missile radar system engineering.
* Understand concepts of radar operations, data manipulation and tool development and other aspects of radar analysis.
* Excellent communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

* Hands on experience with one of the following radars: AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, Cobra Dane or LRDR.
* Proficient in communications, especially technical reporting and presentation.
* Familiarity with UNIX and Linux operating systems.
* Familiarity with MATLAB or similar analysis tools.
* Experience working with SSF/OSF.
* Familiarity with IEEE 1012 standard.
