 Mission:  The candidate will support a critical Homeland Defense operational mission for the Joint Air Defense Operations Center Developmental (JADOC-D). The candidate will be responsible for providing network engineering support and services to the Wide Area Network that connects our remote sites to various data processing locations in both classified and unclassified environments, as well as in a Closed Restricted Network (CRN) Environment. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of cyber security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Analyzes information systems, weapons systems, command, control, communications, and/or intelligence systems to determine vulnerabilities and conduct comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Conducts security inspections, assessments, tests, and reviews of information systems and networks to ensure no security changes have been made to invalidate the current Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and/or to determine certification compliance to DoD Policies and procedures, existing vulnerabilities and residual risk.
  • Supports continuous review of A&A support documentation packages and system fielding, operations or upgrades requirements to ensure accuracy, completeness and that the support documentation packages meet minimal risk acceptance standards.
  • Supports projects to ensure implementation of cyber security controls, takes corrective action in response to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Communication Tasking Orders (CTOs), and security incidents and engages external assessment agencies in coordination with the Authorizing Official (AO). Ensure the secure configuration of information systems, network equipment and applications/software/operating systems.
  • Leads or participates in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization efforts in coordination with the AO. Provides advice and information on emerging cybersecurity technology and doctrine issues.
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to plan, resource, and execute cyber security requirements for networks and systems.
  • Perform Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and/or Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) functions as appointed.

Requirements/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Current 5-10 years of Network/IT experience
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • eMASS experience
  • 4+ years' experience in IT and/or Systems Administration (at least 4 years)
  • Experience in government IT compliance processes
  • 4+ years' experience implementing STIGs
  • Extensive knowledge of DoDI 8510.01 and NIST SP 800-37
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • A current minimum of SECRET security clearance is required for this position.  Employee must maintain a minimum of a SECRET security clearance at all times.

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of Air Defense radar and weapon systems (SHORAD)
