MISSION

Quantum is seeking a Systems Engineer (SME) in Huntsville, Alabama. Ideal candidate will support the Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Track Management (TM)/Combat Identification (CID) Subject Matter Expert (SME) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO) Systems Engineering Team to develop architectures, interfaces, designs, and algorithms and execute papers, studies, experiments, and demonstrations to mature IFMC's TM/CID capability to be the premier capability within the Army and the Department of Defense. The TM/CID SME will be a source of knowledge and guidance to the Agile software development teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The candidate must have a strong understanding of TM/CID concepts, must be familiar with current TM/CID implementations in 1 or more of the DoD services, must be familiar with academic research in this subject, and must have architecture design, and algorithm development experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have perform TM capabilities; geodetic registration and composite tracking (i.e., fusion of kinematic and attribute data from task force sensors, and the Army's external sources of data (e.g., BFT, IBS, Link16, and CEC)
  • Will have strong understanding of the following CID capabilities; familiar with known sources of AMD CID (e.g., IFF, ADS-B, Civilian Flight Plans, Air Tasking Orders, NCTR), and must be aware of potential unknown AMD CID capabilities (e.g., RF signatures). The candidate must be aware of current research in composite tracking
  • Ability/knowledge to improve on existing algorithms and/or synthesize new algorithms to mature the IFMC's TM/CID capability
  • Ability/experience to work directly with the Agile software developers as needed
  • Will provide technical briefings and advisement to leadership on recommended courses of action, trade studies, architecture and design, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above,
  • must have a Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences or mathematics or equivalent
  • Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset and other required engineering software to perform the above responsibilities
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher (requires US Citizenship for Secret Clearance)
