Mission:

Quantum is looking for a technically skilled Computer Programmer with a working knowledge of current cloud computing technologies to continue development and maintenance of our software applications and cloud computing infrastructure. The duties will include managing system performance, reviewing and updating existing programs, identifying and fixing defects, supporting data architecture, generating reports, developing in-house software, and mitigating potential risk. Your expertise in programming will assist our organization in increasing efficiency and service through construction, maintenance, and streamlining of our computing systems and programs. The ideal candidate for this role must be versatile, self-motivated, possess superior coding skills, communicate effectively, possess good task management, and have superior problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participating in design, planning and implementation of cloud based solutions to meet customer requirements for data processing and cataloguing
  • Planning and execution of data collection at field events
  • Coding and debugging applications in-house, in the field, and in the cloud
  • Computer operating system maintenance
  • Troubleshooting system errors
  • Writing computer instructions
  • Managing database systems
  • Editing source-code
  • Profiling and analyzing algorithms
  • Implementing build systems

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, a candidate will possess, and demonstrate, the following skills, education and experience:

  • BS degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or Computer Programming. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years of experience with at least two popular programming languages (C#, C++, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, Python, etc.) and application development

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Docker and/or other container tools
  • Virtualization, VMware, Hyper-V, etc
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Aptitude for learning new technology
  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
  • Willing to travel
  • Able to work in austere conditions for limited periods
  • Current DoD Secret clearance

Desired requirements:

  • Familiarity with at least two other programming languages
  • Eagerness to learn new languages and technologies
  • Basic understanding of network architecture, traffic, and protocols
  • Basic understanding of electronics (microcontrollers, sensors, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of radio and telecommunications
  • Android/mobile app development experience
